person you would not expect me to be.
I was a Barbie girl. I always held my own fashion shows for my Barbies. I learned to sew at 4 years old. I watched lots of Mary-Kate and Ashley growing up because they were so stylish. I started reading Teen Vogue when I was young. I've studied designers for years. I went to my first high-fashion event at 14 years old, It was the private members-only preview party for From The Sidewalk To The Catwalk by Jean Paul Gaultier at the Dallas Museum of Art. I was a classified donor for the museum. I met reporters from New York and designers there. I went to my first professional fashion show at 15. It was for a wedding dress designer. It was such a big moment for me that I broke down into tears. If I didn't know before then, I knew in that moment that working in fashion was my dream, and nothing is going to stop me from doing just that.
